Dr.Tenisha Bibbs is the CEO of Tenisha Bibbs Enterprises which holds 2 subsidiaries, Doula Helps and Birth Work Publishings LLC. The contributions Dr. Bibbs has made and continues to make within the perinatal world has greatly impacted her community. Her passion and determination in the overall health of mothers and birthing persons is the fuel that propels her to ensure that everyone involved in the birth experience are informed in the areas of postpartum care, lactation support, maternal mental health, and without out question includes fathers, partners and companions in the front line of advocacy.
Mission
With over 25 years of service between the beauty industry and the birth industry, Dr. Tenisha Bibbs shares her expertise in her published books: Behind the Beauti: Discovering Your True Beauty from the Inside Out and Ask a Doula: A Transitional Guide for New Moms, to coach expectant mothers through pregnancy and postpartum depression and giving encouragement as she shares her story of triumph in the face of hardships, domestic violence and her own postpartum depression as an African American Business Woman and a Black Mother in the United States. Her past pain became her life’s purpose and power.
Vision
She established Doula Helps, a non profit organization to help single moms’ transition home after their release from the hospital and assist in successful lactation. Statistics show that 64.3% of African American women do not breastfeed for at least 6 months. It is her goal to change the narrative and stigma surrounding breastfeeding and postpartum within the African American community.
In 2008, The Daughters of Zion’s mentoring program was also introduced as an effort to encourage young girls about their own self image offering a positive perspective of self-acceptance. Dr. Bibbs passes her wisdom and expertise in beauty education mentoring young ladies to seek their inner beautiful selves while expressing external beauty through the practice of skin care and age-appropriate natural makeup looks.

A dedicated humanitarian, Dr Bibbs was honoured as the recipient of Georgia State Proclamation for Beauti Day and Georgia State Proclamation for Postpartum Maternal Mental Health for raising awareness on Maternal Postpartum Depression and Maternal Suicide in the Postpartum Period. In her determination to help make this world a better place she persistently helps in the fight again human sex trafficking as a regular contributor to Treasure Box International, an organization that establishes children’s healthcare centers worldwide.
